Volunteers Needed!

The opportunity exists for some lucky volunteers to earn some serious street cred with the club! We have three positions that need to be filled.

Firstly, we are looking for an enterprising candidate to fill the role of Canteen Convenor for the summer season, starting mid-October to March 2015. The canteen is open every Friday night during the 6-a-side junior fixtures.

Duties include:

  • responsibility for the canteen’s inventory and supplies throughout the season
  • operation of the canteen during opening hours on fixture nights
  • maintaining accurate records of sales

Junior players 15 and over may apply for the position if interested.

Secondly: There is a vacancy on the Committee for a Junior Statistician to manage the stats for the Under 8 to Under 10 age groups. Ideally, we are hoping to find a volunteer amongst our younger parents to take on this responsibility. Full training is provided.

Job Description:

  • maintain accurate player statistics in the club’s database
  • issue certificates for player milestones
  • prepare player and team trophies for our end of season presentation
  • ensure all match statistics are submitted to Brisbane North (BNJCA)

Thirdly: Unfortunately our fantastic Grounds Controller, Jeff Dorling, had to step down and we need some helpers to take on his responsibilities.

Job Description:

  • mow the six to seven little grass pitches for the Friday night U8 – U10 games (mower and petrol provided)
  • paint the creases using a line marking machine

This task will need to be done each Thursday or Friday morning (schools use the ovals from 12.00 – 2.30pm on Fridays).

Steve Casey will organise the original mowing and marking and after that it only takes about 45 – 60 minutes (less if you bring a mate to give you a hand).
