The post Christmas junior season for summer 2026 will commence on Friday the 30th of January for U8 and U9 age groups, and Saturday the 31st of January for U10 to Opens.
The season will end on Friday the 20th of March for U8 and U9s, and Saturday the 21st of March for U10 to Opens.
For U10s and U11s, the format will be eight One-Day games. For U12 to U16s, the format will be one One-Day match, followed by three Two-Day matches, and another One-Day match to finish the season.
As for previous seasons, BNJCA does not have finals – top of the ladder team for each age group are the premiers.
Note that as of January 2026, all U8 and U9 teams are full and we are no longer taking registrations for these age groups.

In the Post-Xmas comp, there are less than a half of the teams in the Pre-Xmas comp. Clubs like Valleys go from having approx 90 teams down to about 25 teams as many of their players will now play school cricket in term one. This is the same for other inner-city clubs like Wilston North and Toombul. All these boys go to schools like Brisbane Grammar, Marist College, Nudgee, Padua, Gregory Terrace and other private schools like St Pauls.
Our club has lost four teams whose boys are all off to play for their schools. They usually return later in the year for the next season.
Most of our club sides resume training on the that first week back at school, starting Monday 26th Jan. Some may choose to start the week before.
Kathy and I are currently doing the draws for BNJCA and these will be published later next week or earlier the week after.
Draws
In the Pre-Xmas comp each draw had a particular name, for example, 12 Warne or 15 Hopes. These draw names will no longer exist, so for this part of the season your draw will have a new name – so you could be 12 Hauritz or 15 Cutting (for example). Don’t search for your Pre-Xmas draw as it will be gooone!!!
In some cases, because we have lost teams, you may now be in a different team, for example U13 Falcon Hawks not U13 Night Hawks etc.

Match balls
I will get your new supply of match balls out to you at your first training session.
Training Roster
Unless coaches have particularly asked for a new training night (U10 – U16), your training roster will stay the same as for the Pre-Xmas comp.
