Winter Warehouse 2015 competition details

We are now taking registrations for players, both junior and senior, who wish to play in the WCA Winter competition.

Teams are filling fast; so far we have filled one U14’s and one U15’s team to capacity. There has also been interest by players to form U13’s and U16’s teams, and potentially second U14’s and U15’s teams.

We are hoping to form at least three senior Saturday teams – again be quick to register interest so you won’t miss out.

We have also had interest from senior players wishing to form at least one, possibly two, Sunday sides; again we need players to make this happen.

Competition Details:

Juniors:

The season commences on 2nd May (depending on the number of teams in the draw) and goes through to the end of August (for finalists).
The game schedule also depends on the number of teams: If there are eight teams in an age group, the season will consist of 7 x two-day games. If there are six teams, the season will be consist of a combination of 5 x one-day and 5 x two-day games.

Matches are played on Saturdays and are played at a variety of north-side venues such as Brendale, Bardon, Dakabin, Burpengary, Ferny Grove, Albany Hills, Marchant Park and 7th Brigade Park (again, dependent on the teams in your draw).

The WCA endeavours to run separate north-side and south-side competitions where possible, but this depends upon the number of teams nominating, so there is always the slight possibility that some travel to south-side venues may be required. The majority of matches are played on synthetic pitches but junior teams may also get an occasional game on turf throughout the season. Finals are played over 2 days on Saturday/Sunday (usually on turf).

Please note that fixtures continue through the school holidays.

For Sunday teams, the season commences on the 3rd of May for group A, and 10th May for group B (groupings will be decided upon once all teams are registered. Sunday teams play every second Sunday, usually playing seven games over the course of the season (again, this may change due to the number of teams in your draw).
